Dale Royce Brister

Dale Royce Brister, 79, of Conway passed away March 29, 2024. He was born July 18, 1944 in Childress, Texas to the late William and Norma (Reed) Brister. In addition to his parents, Dale was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his wife, Jereldene Brister; and great-granddaughter, Adalynn Grace Westcott.
Dale proudly served his country in the United States Marines for four years, being honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1967. He went on to be a Lock and Dam Operator for the Toadsuck Corps of Engineers, where he retired. In his spare time, Dale enjoyed trout fishing, hunting deer and squirrels, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He also had a sweet tooth and would never pass up a slice of birthday cake. Besides his love for the outdoors, Dale’s greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose laughter and love brought light to his days. He dedicated time to building a playground for them to enjoy at his home in Conway and was planning on restoring it before his passing.
Those left to cherish the memories of Dale include his three daughters, Tammy (Greg) Harrison, Vickie Chastain, and Cindy (Daniel) Freeman; grandchildren, Sara O’Dell, Emily (Eric) Westcott, Josh (Katie) Freeman, Caleb Freeman, Nathan Freeman, Taylor (Sydney) Chastain, Courtney Chastain, and Seth Harrison; great-grandchildren, Connor O’Dell, Ella Westcott, and Trace Westcott; as well as one sibling and friends.
A memorial service honoring Dale’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that plants or donations be made towards Dale’s playground restoration fund, both can be sent to: 28 Hackler Circle, Conway, AR, 72032.
