Dale Tanksley

Dale Edwin Tanksley, 56, of Bee Branch, died June 7, 2011. A long haul trucker for over 20 years, he enjoyed seeing the country and being on the road, but not as much as he loved his Arkansas Razorbacks and playing music. You would rarely see him without a Razorback hat on and his guitar by his side. He would cheer long and loud for his home team and spend hours listening to sports talk shows while covering the miles.
Dale had a big heart and a generous spirit, helping many who needed it and being a friend to everyone he met. But the most important people in Dale's world were his family. And you certainly didn't always have to be blood to be considered and treated as family.
He is survived by his mother, Margaret Gwin Tanksley of Sherwood; a sister, Donna Dunn and husband John of Lonoke, a brother Billy and wife Deanne of Natchez, Mississippi, and daughter Adrienne Clegg Wooten and husband Chancy, and their children MaKenzi and Rowdy. He is also survived by a special young man, Chase Whitmire. He is preceded in death by his father Billy Tanksley Sr.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in his name to the Arkansas Children's Hospital or the Humane Society of the United States. It warms his heart to know that we are helping ill children and taking care of helpless animals.
Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 13th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, followed by interment at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Bigelow. Rosary and visitation will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 12th at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com
