Listen to Obituary

Danny Joe Segraves of Austin passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2025. He was born on March 23, 1948, to Don and Jo Segraves from Strawberry. Young Life took him to Washington with his family until Don died in 1959. He grew up on a dairy farm in Cabot with his mom and stepdad Sam Clark, whom Danny loved dearly, along with his two brothers, Dwight (Mary) Segraves of Little Rock and Randy (Debbie) Segraves of Beebe.

Danny pursued farm life with a master’s degree in Agronomy from the University of Arkansas which led to a career beginning in the Extension Service at Lee Wilson Co. and then to Bunge where he retired as a grain broker. His career led him to eastern Arkansas, and his wonderful wife Lou shared his passion for hunting and fishing. Together they built their dream home in Austin on part of the family farm enjoying their retirement hunting, fishing and being close to grandchildren.

Danny is survived by his brothers, and many children and grandchildren.

A special Celebration of Life will be held November 15th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital (go online to Arkansas Children’s Hospital Donations for instructions).
