Darrell Leonard Brown, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on September 1, 1943, Darrell was the son of the late Charles Brown and Bernice Schuck Brown. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Charles “Danny” Brown, his devoted wife and the love of his life, Patsy Williams Brown, his cherished grandson Raymond Truitt “TJ” Tabor Jr., and his dear son-in-love Anthony James “Tony” Creal.
Darrell is survived by his three children—Micheal Kenneth Brown, Angela Brown Creal, and Sabrina Odette Brown—who will forever carry his wisdom and love in their hearts. He leaves behind four adoring grandchildren: Hunter Beaumont Tabor, Tabbitha Patrice Tabor, Hannah Creal Zuber, and Micheal “Connor” Brown, along with three great- grandchildren who were his pride and joy: AnnaDay Lee Reynolds, Raymond “Truitt” Tabor III, and Hadley Gale Zuber.
A proud 1961 graduate of Central High School, Darrell was a lifelong learner whose hobbies reflected his boundless curiosity and love for connection. He found joy in the pursuit of knowledge, exploring history, solving mysteries, listening to classic rock, and swapping stories that could light up any room. He had a knack for couponing and an even greater gift for making people feel welcome and valued. Above all, his greatest passion was spending time with family and friends, and no gathering was too small for his big heart.
In 1963, Darrell met Patsy Williams, and just a year later they began their life together in a marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and unshakable loyalty. Christmas was Darrell’s favorite holiday, not for the gifts under the tree, but for the joy of having all his loved ones together in one place.
Darrell will be remembered as a selfless, humble, and strong father; a perfect, faithful, and loyal husband; and a caring, thoughtful, and generous grandfather. His legacy of love, integrity, and kindness will live on in the lives of those he touched. Though he has left this earth, his spirit will forever remain a guiding light for his family and friends.
