Darrell Wayne Jones, 68, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on September 14, 2025, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital. He was born in Forrest City, Arkansas to Dewey Elmo and Iris Dale (Boswell) Jones.
Darrell made a career as a salesman, working with schools and churches on fundraisers. It wasn’t just a job to him — it was a way to connect with people, and he left a mark on countless lives through his work.
Anyone who knew Darrell knew he had the heart of a kid. His imagination and quick wit kept everyone guessing if he was serious or just pulling their leg. He loved making people laugh, and his humor was one of his greatest gifts.
Sports were a lifelong passion, especially baseball and football. When he wasn’t cheering on a game, you could find him outdoors, hunting or riding his four-wheeler. No matter what he was doing, his loyal sidekick Joey, his beloved dog, was right there beside him.
Darrell leaves behind his wife, Dot Jones; his children, Darrell Wayne Jones Jr. and wife Amanda, Darian Jones Ellison and husband Alan, Ryan Ransdell, and Drew Ransdell and wife Courtnie; and his grandchildren, Brynlee, Cambrie, Everett, Ainslee, Emery, Elvis, Atticus, Elijah, and Giovanni, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his brothers, Charles Jones and his wife Binki and Dewey Elmo Jones Jr. and his wife Marilyn; his sister, Sandra Dreher and her husband Lem; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Elmo and Iris Dale (Boswell) Jones, and his sisters, Theresa Ishmael and Becky Moore.
Darrell will be remembered for his laughter, his stories, and the love he had for his family and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, but the joy he brought to others will live on.
