David Eugene Holley

David Eugene Holley, 80, of Bryant, Arkansas passed away on February 12, 2024. Born on July 13, 1943, in Benton, Arkansas, David was the son and oldest child of James and Mary Jane Holley. He is survived by his daughter and her husband, Julianne Holley and James Wilson; his grandson, Kyle Long; his sister, Sharon Holley and husband James C. Lilly; his sister, Mildred Holley; and his niece, Elizabeth Lilly McLaughlin and her husband Scott and their son Jackson. David was preceded in death by his parents and Lady, his beloved German Shepherd.
 
David received his education at Bryant High School before attending the University of Arkansas for higher education. He excelled in his studies and developed a passion for the petroleum industry, specifically focusing on the geology of potential oil and gas reservoirs. David's expertise led him to work in various locations within the United States and South America. David will be remembered for his dedication and contributions to the petroleum industry. His knowledge and expertise have left a lasting impact on the field. 

David loved the outdoors. He taught himself to sail while living in Oklahoma and became certified to scuba dive. He enjoyed numerous ski vacations and camping trips in the Rocky Mountains, where he developed a keen photographer’s eye for the beauty of our landscape.

David was a good guy and will be deeply missed by his family and friends. In accordance with his wishes, David will be cremated with no services. To honor David’s life, a private celebration for family members is expected at a later date so that we may share our memories of happier times with him.

The family requests no flowers. Arrangements are entrusted to Smith Family Funeral Home in Little Rock.
