David Miller

David Miller, Born October 7, 1934, in Rushville, Indiana, died January 3, 2023, in Searcy, Arkansas at the age of 88. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Helen Miller of Columbus, Indiana; sisters, Ann Bormes and Connie Nolting; and his wife of sixty-six years, Jennalea.

David is survived by his children; sons, David Neil Miller and wife, Denise, of Kerrville, Texas; Howard Scott Miller of Sherwood; daughter, Julea Jones and husband, Jimmy.  He is also survived by four grandchildren, Michael, William, Melanie and Jason; six great grandchildren, Wyatt, Chance, Nicole, Ethan, Abriella and Harley.  David was loved by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was an A.A.U. Athlete on Trampoline and was on the cover of PARADE.  He was also a Drum Major at Columbus High School.  David joined the Army and was a Korean War Veteran.  He met the love of his life, Jennalea, and they married in 1955 and remained so until her death in 2020.  Always a hard worker so much so that he was once working three jobs.  He worked as a bank teller, Retail at Otasco (became manager), went back to banking and became a Branch Manager for First American National Bank, then Loan Officer; and after moving to Beebe, he became Vice President at First State Bank.  David was a 33rd Degree Mason.  He and Jennalea were active in their churches.  His eldest son said that David was one of those people that could light up a room wherever he was.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital.org or St. Jude’s Hospital, in his memory.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Smith Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel, Beebe.   Interment at Shady Grove Cemetery.
