David R. Anderson, age 84, of Conway, passed away February 5, 2026. He was born December 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Herbert C. Anderson and Katherine Watkins Anderson.


David joined the United States Air Force in 1960 right out of High School. He worked in weather forecasting for the military and served a tour in Vietnam in 1970. He served a 24 year career until retirement in 1984, ranking Chief Master Sergeant. Once retired, he attended the University of Central Arkansas where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 1998.


He was an avid photographer putting his degree to good use. David captured important events in the lives of his children, step-children, and grandchildren. In addition to his photography, he also enjoyed riding motorcycles for many years.


David married his wife, Linda Anderson, in 1990 and they celebrated 35 years of marriage. Together they enjoyed beach trips, camping, bull riding events, and numerous road trips. They also raised many pets together over the years.


He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jacob Kaufold who was a twin.


David is survived by his wife; children, Tracy Kaufold and Paul Douglas Anderson; grandchildren, Hunter Kaufold, and Cheyenne, Riley, and Skylar Anderson, and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by step-sons, Lewis Mathews, Jr., Heath Mathews, Paul Mathews; to which he is known as "Super Dave;" six step- grandchildren, Amber, Heather, Brooke, Raven, Blaed, Mallori; and four step- great-grandchildren who he loved as his own.
