Della Faye Gatewood Brown, 76, of Little Rock, passed away Friday, March 19, 2010. She was born in North Little Rock on August 24, 1933 to Aubra Gatewood and Gladys Harrell Gatewood and was a member of Markham Street Baptist Church. She worked for Southwestern Bell, Butler Greene & Byrd Attorneys-at-Law, the Arkansas Public Service Commission and retired in 1998 from the State Department of Education.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Branch; son, Jerry Brown; sisters, Betty Killough and D Roberts; brother, Aubrey Gatewood (Linda); grandchildren, Danny Brown (Hillary), Donna Brown St. Clair (David) and Jason Brown (Bonnie); and great-grandchildren, Dallas St. Clair, Derek St. Clair, Delanie St. Clair, Dalton St. Clair, Dylan Brown and Jarrett Brown.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Arkansas Hospice who lovingly cared for Della in her final days of life.
Visitation will be Monday evening, March 22 from 6-8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Ct. (NW corner I-630 and Barrow Rd.). Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Markham Street Baptist Church, 9701 W. Markham, Little Rock, officiated by Rev. Ed Hinkson, followed by interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Memorials may be made to Markham Street Baptist Church or to Arkansas Hospice, 5600 W. 12th St., Little Rock, AR 72204.
