Delores ?Dodie? Gilbert, age 78, passed away, Friday, September 7, 2007. She was born on August 4, 1929 to late Roy A. and Minnie Marie Chandler Smith in Scott, Arkansas.
Dodie is survived by two daughters, Patricia Carter of North Little Rock, Johana Keene and husband Charles of Pangburn; two sons, Larry Garner and wife Debra of Texas, John Gilbert & wife Paula of Cabot; special nephew, James David Smith; eight grandchildren, Tree Garner, Lesley Keene, Jason Gilbert, Michael Carter, Michael Parker, John Paul Gilbert, Lisa Keene-Townsend, Cindy Carter; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Wayne Smith of Pettigrew; her best friend, Mada Vaughan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael Garner; one brother, Ed Smith; one sister, Patsy House.
She touched anyone?s life she met and she never met a stranger. Her family was her life.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care, 106 S. Spring Street, Searcy, Arkansas, 72143.
Services are 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 10, 2007 at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
