Delton "Boss Hogg" Pate

Delton “Boss Hogg” Pate, age 50, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022. 

He was born on July 8, 1972, in Murfreesboro, the son of Elvin Delton Pate and Lee Zettie “Liz” Todd Pate.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; his brother, Kevin Yandell; and his beloved dog, Jack.

Delton, who was fondly known by everyone as “Boss Hogg” was a trucker by profession, but more importantly, by heart, he loved every day he was working and dedicated his all to it.  He was a Free Mason and a lifetime member.  Boss Hogg was loved by everyone who had the joy of knowing him and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brother, Virgil Andrew Cogburn; his stepdaughter, Kristi Hill; his many grandbabies; two nieces, Autumn Yandell and Holly Yandell; two nephews, Linzy Yandell and Trent Freeman; his longtime friend, Sherry Cates; several cousins; a host of wonderful and loving friends; and all of his trucker family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 20, 2022, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Joe Cogburn officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Griffin, Lynn Elmore, Tim Pierce, Craig Coffman, Wade Coffman and Steve Stanart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Linzy Yandell, Trent Freeman, Virgil Burke, Josh Barrett, Scott Watson and Josh Casey.
