Demo Lee (Stephenson) Hampton was born in Leslie, Arkansas on May 22, 1931, and peacefully entered the presence of her Savior in 2025.
A faithful follower of Jesus Christ, Demo Lee lived her life with unwavering devotion—to her Lord, to her family, and to every child she ever taught. Her faith wasn’t just something she professed; it was the foundation on which she built her life. She embodied grace, strength, and quiet perseverance, touching lives in countless unseen and profound ways.
Demo Lee graduated from Arkansas Teacher’s College (now UCA) and dedicated 32 years to shaping young minds and hearts in the classroom. As a lifelong educator, she was more than a teacher—she was a guide, encourager, and steady hand for hundreds of students who still carry her lessons in their hearts.
Even after retirement, her calling to serve and teach never stopped. Her home became a place of peace and purpose as she faithfully led Bible studies for many years, opening both her Bible and her heart to others well into her later years.
She was a loving and selfless mother who made it her life’s mission to support and care for her children. Her love was strong and steady—a reflection of the Savior she followed. She poured out her life in service, never asking for recognition but always giving her best.
Demo Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Hoba and Ora Mae Stephenson; her beloved husband, Bill; her dear son, Brian; her brother, Fowler; her twin sister, Rena; and her older sister, Dorothy. Though her passing leaves a deep ache, we rejoice in knowing she is now reunited with them in the eternal joy of Heaven.
She is survived by her son, Mark; her cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Courtney, and John; her loving sisters, Worda Freeman and May McDaniel; and many extended family members and friends who will carry her legacy forward.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:30 AM at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Leslie, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations and tributes be made to The Church at Rock Creek, 11500 West 36th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72211—a place she loved and supported faithfully.
“May the Lord bless you and keep you; may His face shine upon you and give you peace.” Amen.
