Dennis John “D” Benson, 62, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away on September 29, 2025. He was born on February 19, 1963, in Van Buren, Arkansas.
D was a devoted father, proud grandfather, and a hardworking mechanic who could fix just about anything. He first worked as an airplane mechanic in the Air Force, later at Falcon Jet, and eventually found his true passion working on cars. If someone’s vehicle broke down, D was always the first to show up with a wrench and a smile. But it wasn’t just cars, he would help anyone in need, no matter who they were or what they’d been through. He never judged; he just showed up.
He was known for his big laugh, quick wit, and the way he made people feel welcome. He loved his daughters, Denise Lynette Diaz and Danyella Joan Benson, more than anything, and adored his grandchildren: Dakota Lynn Ingram, Donald Lee Stokes III, and Danica Lynise Stokes. His family and friends will miss his humor, his honesty, and the way he was always there when you needed him.
D is survived by his mother, Jessie Joan Benson; his siblings Jack Crump, Barton K. “Ken” Benson, Jr., Jay Lynn Bryant, Nora Hill, and Vince Keith Benson; along with many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Barton K. Benson, Sr., and siblings Virginia Kay Benson, Betty Lou Brashier, and Benny J. Benson.
Though he has gone on before us, D’s memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and love he left behind.
