Denny Cowart

Denny Cowart, age 63, of Black Springs, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. He was born on November 12, 1954 in Hot Springs, the son of Robbie Lee Cowart and Nina Jean Black. On February 14, 1974, he was married to Linda Head. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Darrell Cowart. He was a retired farmer and construction contractor and served as captain for the Norman Volunteer Fire Department. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He is survived by his wife, Linda Cowart; his son, Jake Cowart; his daughter and son-in-law, Lindsay and Elvis Lenard, all of Black Springs; and three grandchildren, Hayden Cowart, Hannah Cowart and Brodie Lenard. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, March 5, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Robbie Loudermilk and Bro. Eli Nesar officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Black Springs Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. D. Lybrand, Buster Morris, Shane Black, Warren Black, James Colgrove and Mitch Michener. Honorary pallbearers will be Shug Morris, Charles Williams, Gary Roberts, Keith Horn, Doug Pence, Gary Young, Elvis Lenard and Hayden Cowart. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
