Dewitt Woodall, age 93, of Kirby, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was born on March 23, 1919, at Kirby, the son of Jessie Walter Woodall and Martha Doshia Adams Woodall. On February 19, 1938, he was married to Edith Cox. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Clifford Woodall, Flint Woodall, Gip Woodall and Hosea Woodall; and one sister, Bernice Dunlap. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II; a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers and Helpers; and Local 69. He was a truck driver for many years, a farmer, logger, miner and a mule skinner. He enjoyed fox hunting, working with and riding horses and mules. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was deeply loved by his family and friends and we will be missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife, Edith Woodall of Kirby; his four children and their spouses, JD and Carol Woodall of Daisy, Bobby and LaQuitta Woodall of Amity, Garry and Ruth Woodall of Newhope and Tana and Don Pitts of North Little Rock; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Kerry Scott Woodall and his wife, Donnia, Timothy Kent Woodall and his wife, Tracie, Sonya Joan Woodall, Teresa Kay Clay and her husband, Peter, Devin Dewitt Woodall, Felicia Louise Woodall, Jonathan Lyn Woodall and his wife, Lana, Joseph Craig Woodall and Rachael Courtney Pitts; thirteen great-grandchildren, Eric Nathan Clay, Cheyenne Noel Clay, Katherine Kentleigh Woodall, Chloe Anna Grace Woodall, Hunter Shawn Wilson Woodall, Ronnie and Angela Pittman, Lance Pittman, Suzanne and James Hendrix, Kiley Pittman and Madison and Isaac Hendrix; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Harloe White officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Devin Woodall, Hunter Woodall, Joseph Woodall, Scott Woodall, Timothy Woodall and Don Pitts. Honorary pallbearer will be Elton Don Woodall.
