Diana "Michelle" Walston

Michelle Walston, age 54, of Dierks, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2026, in CHI St Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs, AR. She was born in Nashville, Arkansas, on August 23, 1971, to Don and Diane Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 25 years, Terry McCauley, on October 17, 2015.

Michelle was a 1989 graduate of Dierks High School. She worked as a dental assistant and became a cook at Dierks High School in 2017 to be close to her grandchildren. Michelle cherished being a “Nene” to her grandkids and rarely ever missed one of their events. She loved to play practical jokes and cook for her family. She was an excellent caregiver for all of her family members throughout her life.

Michelle and Terry have two children surviving them, Robin (Jasper) Fatherree and Cassi (Faith) McCauley.

She is survived by her husband, Shane Walston, whom she married in 2017. Michelle gained two stepchildren: Austin (Kenzie) Walston and Adriana Walston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Collin & Claire Fatherree, Raylie, Logan, & Kaden Walston, and Briggs Kesteron. She is survived by one sister, Dana (Rick) Wright; and one niece Laci (Raven) Wright. She is also survived by Peggy (Noah) Crow, Brenda McCauley, Dallas (LeeAllen) Sutton, and Shana (Greg) Janes.

The family will receive friends and loved ones during visitation at the Newhope Freewill Baptist Church in Newhope, AR. on Sunday, April 12, 2026 from 1 pm-3 pm. Graveside service and burial will be Monday, April 13, 2026 at 10 am at Mt Joy Cemetery in Daisy, AR.
