Dolly Ann Smith

Mrs. Dolly Ann Smith, 57, of North Little Rock was born on January 10, 1966, to the late Mr. Robert & Mrs. Eddie Lee Smith. She peacefully passed away on September 11, 2023, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Dolly accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age.  She was an active and faithful member of New Light MBC for many years. She graduated from Ole Main High, North Little Rock, Class of 1983, and went on to secure multiple degrees from the University of Arkansas at Pulaski Tech.

Community involvement was of the utmost importance to Dolly.  She volunteered within several organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Our House, and AmeriCorps.  She also served as a board member of the Argenta Historic District.  Dolly was employed at the City of North Little Rock for several years before joining the staff of the North Little Rock School District, from where she ultimately retired.  As an entrepreneur, she also managed and operated Our Family Catering Service and Dolly’s Cleaning Service.

Dolly was a central figure within the Smith family.  She poured into her family with the love of GOD!  There was nothing her family could ask for that she didn’t strive to do.  Dolly was always willing and available to help those in need.  She was a true example of a servant of GOD.  To know her was to LOVE HER.  She never met a stranger and after meeting her you felt like a friend.  When she smiled and greeted you with her famous “Hi, how are you doing” you knew it came from a place of love.

Dolly was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Robert Smith, mother, Mrs. Eddie Lee Smith, nephews, Michael Smith, Rickey Smith Jr., and LaDemon Taylor, niece Lateresa Smith, and her beloved pet, Missy Smith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Christopher Smith (Angela) and Gary Harris Jr.; 1 grandchild, Christain Smith; 7 brothers, Roger Lee Smith (Frankie), Robert Smith Jr., Ricky Smith Sr. (Deborah), Roger Maris Smith, Reginald Smith, Michael Smith, Willie C. Smith (Beverly); 4 sisters, Debbie Barbee (Lawrence), Doris Cobb (Tony), Deborah Smith (Joseph), Dianna Green; numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
