Dolores Brister

Dolores Evelyn Allen Brister, 78, of North Little Rock passed away May 13, 2011. Dolores was born December 8, 1932, in Corpus Christi, Texas; the daughter of William Walter Allen and Ruby Allen of Kingsville, Texas. She married Orian Samuel (Sam) Brister, Jr. on June 25, 1949 in Kingsville. She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was affectionately known by all as Nanny. She was an avid animal lover who never met a stray she wouldn't take in. She loved the beach and Texas coastline. Her favorite holiday was Christmas which she loved to share with her family and friends. Her home was always open for visitors to chat and enjoy a cup of coffee. Her beautiful spirit will be missed here on Earth but she is home in the arms of Jesus now. She is survived by her husband, Sam Brister, and children, Walter Orian Brister and wife Priscilla Brister and Jewel Brister Thompson, all of North Little Rock; her grandchildren, Honey and Michael Pena of Corpus Christi, Jennifer and Kristan Stuart, Carrie and Joe Eison, Nathan Thompson, Walter Brister Jr. and wife Jody, Salena and Alex Lopez, Amber and Patrick Eaton and BJ Thompson, all of North Little Rock; and 15 precious great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first great grandson, Jesse Fortner-Eison, in 2006.
