Don Banker, 94, of Little Rock passed away peacefully on April 29th, 2024. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on November 10, 1929, to Stanley and Cecelia Banker. Don was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Christ the King Church, in Little Rock. He spent his entire career with Reynolds Metals Company as a Metallurgical Engineer. Don was an avid birdwatcher and a member of the American ornithological society. He led an athletic life, enjoying running, tennis, coaching, inspiring young people, and in later years, he found joy in walking the neighborhood.
He leaves behind his children; Michael Banker (Sheila) of Colorado, Daniel Banker (Susan) of Texas, Susy Harrison (Bobby) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Jennifer Verwers (Stephen), Jonathan Banker (Amy), Pat Banker (Christie), Brittany Dunaway (Brian), Danielle Meeler (Derek), Caitlynn Banker, and Chris Harrison; great-grandchildren, Adelyn Verwers, Aubrey Verwers, Mason Verwers, Levi Banker, Claire Banker, Lex Dunaway, and Luke Meeler; his siblings, Bob Banker, Bruce Banker, Susan Gorman, Jane Meng, and Sue Jane Smith; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife Joanna of 66 years, his parents and sister, Martha Banker.
The mass of Christian Burial (Funeral Mass) will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church at 10:00 am Thursday, June 13, 2024 with inurnment immediately following in the Columbarium.
