Don Brookings

Don Brookings of North Little Rock, passed away October 15, 2026 at the age of 85. Don was born in El Paso, Texas on January 15, 1941. Don graduated from Monticello High School in 1959. After serving two years in the United States Navy, Don moved back to Arkansas to raise his family. A tradesman who enjoyed high-adrenaline activities, Don never met a class 5 rapid he couldn’t conquer. His other hobbies included motor-cross racing, skiing and fishing.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, Paulette and his grandson, Jordan Brookings. Don is survived by his children, son Mark Brookings (Lori) of North Little Rock, daughter Marci Brookings Miller of Little Rock, step-daughters Toni Woody (David) of Little Rock and Robyn Taylor of Sherwood, grandchildren Conor Woody, Audrey Woody, Ford Compton, Spencer Compton, Reed Miller and Harper Miller, as well as countless other family and close friends.

Don will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His zest for life, adventures, and love for his family will live on in all who knew him.
