Don Cline

Mr. Don Cline, 88, of Maumelle, passed peacefully away in the early morning hours of June 21, 2024. He was born in Floydada, Tx to the late Frank and Vivian Cline on April 3, 1936.

Donald Ray Cline spent his childhood years growing up in Floydada until relocating with his family to Little Rock when he was a teenager and then to Roland where he graduated from Joe T Robinson High School.

In 1957, at a Christmas party, he met the love of his life, Patsy Jenkins. They were married on June 14th, 1958, and were blessed with 62 wonderful years together. Don proudly served our Country in the Arkansas Army National Guard and the Army Reserve until 1961.

By way of his first job at Kroger, God opened a career door for him at Cordell’s gourmet food store and deli, where he worked and eventually owned for 38 years until he retired. In his “retirement” he joined the driving force of Enterprise Rental Car, working for the next 25 years, enjoying many miles with friends.

Don was a strong man of faith and member of South City Church. He loved God, his wife, his family, the razorbacks, country music, a good western and a well-manicured lawn.

Mr. Cline is survived by his children, Donna Madden and husband, Ray of Maumelle, Dean Cline and wife Tina of Bryant, David Cline and wife Shelly of Oklahoma City, and Drew Cline and wife Lori of Little Rock; grandchildren, that knew him as Pop, Corley, Hunter, Reed, T.J., Casey, Karis, Kaylin, Kathryn, Kenna, Kiley, Kaden, Daisy and Jovie; great-grandchildren, Lawson, Savvy, Merritt, Ellie Joy, Molly Mae, MaKai, Bleu, Auggie and Zachariah; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Frank, mother, Vivian, brother, Jim, sisters, Patsy, Elizabeth, Dorothy Jean; and his most precious friend, love and bride of 62 years, who he is now with once again, Patsy Nell Cline.

In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made out to South City Church.
