Don Wade Funderburk

Don Wade Funderburk, age 74, of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away at home on Sunday, June 19, 2022.

He was born on April 5, 1948, in Murfreesboro, the son of William Harrison Funderburk and Margie Ann Lockeby Funderburk. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorie Funderburk; his parents; his brother, Alton Wayne Funderburk; and two nephews, Brandon Funderburk and Michael Funderburk.

Don was a United States Navy veteran and was a longtime employee of Kellogg Brown and Root and Jacobs.  He was always there to help his family in their time of need, and he will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, Brody and Brittany Funderburk of Winthrop and Dustin and Briana Taylor of Genoa; his significant other, Judy Scholl and her son, Steven Scholl, both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Halyn and Sadie Funderburk and Dalton, Brennan and Landon Taylor; his nephew, Wayne Funderburk; his niece, Sharyn May; and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, June 27, 2022, in the Hicks Cemetery, near Murfreesboro, with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy Honors Team.

Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
