Donald K. Campbell III

Listen to Obituary

Donald K Campbell III, a distinguished attorney and valued community member, died unexpectedly at the age of 67 on August 25, 2025.

He is survived by his sons Aaron Campbell and his partner Jon Webb of Little Rock, Andrew Campbell of Fayetteville, Arkansas, his father Rev. Donald K. Campbell II of Little Rock, his mother Catherine Ann Campbell Young, North Carolina, sister Sarah Campbell Arnett, and her husband Steve, North Carolina, brother Malcolm Campbell, Maine, numerous nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Andrea Eastin Campbell, his sister-in-law Susan Campbell.

Donald was born in Crossett, Arkansas. He lived the majority of his life in Little Rock. He graduated from Catholic High School and earned his undergraduate degree from the College Wooster in Ohio. He received his law degree from University of Arkansas School of Law, beginning a long and respected career in the legal profession. At the time of his death, he was a partner in the law firm of Campbell, Grooms, and Spaulding. He was also an elder and long-time member of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church.

He was known for his integrity and an unwavering commitment to justice. He was the embodiment of Roosevelt’s poem “The Man in the Arena.” His character anchored his commitment to justice, for persons to be seen and heard, fighting for the rights of others. This was not evident just in his legal practice but in all areas of his life—as a husband, father, son, and brother, as well as in his church, the community, and his wealth of friends. We will miss his wisdom, generosity, brilliant mind, and sharp, dry sense of humor.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in his memory.

Services are scheduled for visitation on Sunday, September 7 from 2 to 4 PM, and Memorial Service Monday, September 8 at 1PM. Both will be held at Westover Hills Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
