Donald "Don" Harvey

Donald ‘Don” Harvey, age 92, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.

He was born on December 9, 1930, in Ector, Texas, the son of Oscar Chester Harvey and Dora Inez Bishop Harvey.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Eugene Harvey; and his two sisters, Cleda Harvey and Judy Rogers.  On August 17, 1990, he was married to the love of his life, Mary Evelyn Boney Harvey.

Don was a farmer and cattle rancher and drove a dump truck, working with dirt work and also sand and gravel for plumbing work.  He loved deer hunting, going fishing and spending time enjoying the outdoors.  Above all, Don loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.  Anyone who truly knew Don will forever lovingly remember him for his famous way of being extremely frugal, something he never hid and everyone always loved to joke about.  Don will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Harvey of Amity; his children, Redia Pritchett of Amity, Edwina Lynch of Amity, Kathy Darlene Choate and her husband, Ruel, of Denison Texas, and Kenneth Edward House of Amity; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Lynn Harvey of Amity; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Anna Dillard of Amity and Ginger and Stan Taylor and Roy Rogers, all of Glenwood; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
