Donald Morphew

Donald Morphew, age 75, of Hot Springs, has peacefully passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024. Born on January 31, 1949, Donald led a fulfilling life filled with hard work, love for his family, and cherished hobbies. He is predeceased by both parents, F.W. Morphew and Mildred Shirley-Morphew;  and his beloved canine friend Selina.

Donald spent an impressive 27 years as a lineman for Entergy (formerly AP&L), ensuring that countless homes had power and warmth. His commitment to his career was unwavering, earning the respect and admiration of all who were alongside him. Beyond his professional life, Donald was a man of intellect and ambition. He graduated from Lake Hamilton in 1967 and pursued higher education at Henderson State University.

Outside of work and education, Donald found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a passion for archery and flying, hobbies that allowed him to relax and appreciate the beauty of the world around him.

Donald will be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends, including his beloved children, Jennifer (Michael) Mahan and Jody (Corrine) Morphew; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Abbey, Trevor, Garrett, and Elizabeth; his sister, Susie (Andy) Boyett; nieces, and extended family members. Their memories of Donald will live on through stories shared and love never forgotten.

In remembrance of Donald's life, a Celebration of Life visitation service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024, at Smith Family Funeral Home in Hot Springs. The event will be a tribute to the impact he had on those around him and the legacy he leaves behind.
