Donald T. Wood

Donald Taft Wood born 9/14/37 in Clarksville AR to Omer and Alice Wood passed away on 1/25/26 at the age of 88 in Hot Springs, AR. Donald was a beloved husband to his wife of 65 years, Ruth Barker Wood, father to his children, Donald Ray Wood (Jana) and Gayla Mattoon (Vince). He was also the beloved grandfather or papa to Savana Price (Andrew), Austin Mattoon, and Skylar Wood and great grandfather to Madeline and Peter Price. He has numerous extended family members left to cherish his memory as well his brother in law, Jimmy Barker, sister in law, Linda Hignight and cousin Rusty Williams. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Elite Care as well as Center Well (especially Meg) and Lake Hamilton Rehab for their excellent care. Also, much thanks to neighbors Joni and Jennifer for their support.

Donald moved from Clarksville to Hot Springs in the 60’s and soon after operated a Texaco full service station until 1988 on Central Avenue. He loved the Houston Astros and closed the station for a yearly trip to watch them play. Those vacations are some of the most treasured family memories. He went on to have a newspaper route with The Sentinel Record and later he was a product merchandiser with Keebler products. Donald worked hard and always cared about his customers treating them with honesty and humor.
