Donald Wayne Tarvin, affectionately known as "Chick," passed away on August 13, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories. Born on November 24, 1944, in Benton, Arkansas, Chick had a profound impact on the lives of his family and friends.

Throughout his career as a tile installer, Chick demonstrated unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication to his craft. His work was renowned in the community for its precision and attention to detail. He approached each project with a contagious enthusiasm that inspired those around him.

Beyond his profession, Chick had a deep passion for the outdoors. He was an avid lover of nature and spent countless hours tending to his horses and cows. The tranquility he found amidst the beauty of nature brought him immense joy and peace.

Family was at the center of Chick's life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Known as "Papaw" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he showered them with love and affection. Chick's presence brought warmth to family gatherings, creating cherished memories that will be treasured for generations to come.

Chick's kindness and genuine care extended far beyond his immediate family. He touched the lives of numerous people who were fortunate enough to call him a friend. Friends knew they could rely on him for support during both joyful celebrations and times of adversity.

Chick was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Their memory will forever remain alive within the hearts of those who loved them. He is survived by his loving children: Kevin Tarvin, Brian Tarvin (Denell) Tarvin, Tammy (Steven) Boyd, Tina McElroy, and Nia Tarvin; grandchildren: Dakota Tarvin, Checotah McElroy, Jordan Creech, Skyler Wise, Richard James, Jaedyn Tarvin, Marley Jenkins, and Brentley Lancaster; great-grandchildren, Braylee and Fisher; his sisters: Patricia Ray (Cody) and Judy Brewer; and a large extended family.

A visitation service will be held in Chick's honor on August 16, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Smith Benton Funeral Home located at 322 N Market Street, Benton, AR. This will provide an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share stories, and offer their support during this challenging time.

Chick's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his love for his family, and his unwavering kindness towards others. May we find solace in the memories we shared with Chick as we celebrate a life well-lived.
