Donna Hogan

Donna Lynn (McCoy) Hogan, age 79, of Little Rock passed away on June 18, 2024. She was born September 10, 1944, in Louisville, Kentucky to Dale McCoy and Marguerite Glover McCoy.

Donna graduated from Malvern High School, earned her Bachelor's in Elementary Education from Ouachita Baptist University in 1967, and achieved her Master’s in Elementary Education/Literacy in 1991. She started her career as a 1st-grade teacher and later worked as a Literacy Specialist until she retired from Pulaski County Special School District in September 2010.

She was a trusted friend to many who loved everything chocolate, her Diet Dr. Pepper, the Razorbacks, her dogs, her family, and the Lord. She was a member of the MMC Choir and played Handbells for many years. She also served as Liturgist, and helped with numerous Christmas Eve Services, homeless outreach, church meals, the prayer chain, and many other events and activities at the church. She was truly a servant of the Lord in all she did and showed it daily through her genuine spirit, compassion, and care for others. For many years, she opened her home for the Glover Thanksgiving Gatherings and compiled updates about the family branches to keep everyone in touch as she truly felt family was the most important thing next to faith. Donna raised her two children and continued to be a source of strength, grace, and comfort in their adult lives. She loved visiting and spending time with them as often as possible. Donna was present for the birth of both of her grandchildren and truly embraced being their Nana, sharing her love of reading with them every chance she could.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William E. (Ed) Hogan, and one brother-in-law, J. Ben Hogan.

She is survived by her two children, Scott Hogan of Seattle, Washington, and Debra Hogan (formerly Belitz) of Seguin, Texas; and grandchildren Cody and Kasey Belitz. Other survivors include her sister, Lauren Lindsey (John), one sister-in-law, Jeanne Hogan, one niece, two nephews and their families, and many cousins and friends.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Smith Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court, followed by a Service of Celebration at 2:00 pm at the Mabelvale Methodist Church (MMC).
