Donna M. Kersey, age 77, of Kirby, died Monday, March 11, 2013. She was born on April 16, 1935, in Bluffton, Indiana, the daughter of Glenn Collin Sparks and Goldie Mae Hoover Sparks. On May 10, 1953, she was married to Kirby Kersey. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Don Sparks. She was a 1953 graduate of Rock Creek High School where she enjoyed serving as a school cheerleader. A homemaker for most of her life, she and her husband served as foster parents to many children from 1967 until 2001. She was a member of the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Kirby Kersey of Kirby; five children and their spouses, Sharon and Dan Sparks of Markle, Indiana, David and Becky Kersey of Huntington, Indiana, Suzan and Ed High of Huntington, Indiana, Sandra Kersey and Charlie Showalter of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Bobby and Gina Kersey of Wabash, Indiana; 15 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Alvin Sparks of Greenwood, Indiana, Ron Sparks of Florida and Claude Sparks of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 16, 2013, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adam Rodenbeck, Ryan Decker, Tim Ivey, Chris Kauffman, Jeremy Stults, Teddy Fairchild, Scott Meninges and Sam Zahn.
