Dorceal Amy Elder, age 93, of Mount Ida, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026.

She was born on July 16, 1932, in Story. Dorceal was the daughter of Lonnie Saveall and Sarah Margie Stewart Saveall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arvin and Wanda Saveall and Maurice and Mary Jo Saveall; and her son, USN retired AMSC David "Tom" Elder.

Dorceal was truly a virtuous woman. Her favorite thing to do was to sing and praise her Lord. She attended Union Hill Jesus Name Church and Jesus Name Peace Tabernacle. She was a wonderful mother, grandma, sister, aunt, and friend and Dorceal will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law, Donna Horton and Deyon and Stacy Hamilton all of Story; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Elder of Ohio; her grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Carrie Stephens, Tony and Kelita Rocha, Sarah Hamilton, Andrew Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, AT2 (AW) USN Amanda and USN retired AWFCC Christopher George; MSGT Kristen George, and Joshua George; and her two great-grandchildren and spouse, Bri Stephens, and Brody and McKenna Stephens; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Whitmire, Caleb Whitmire, James Cox, James Cogburn, Andrew Hamilton, and Michael Hamilton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bro. Justin Neel, Bro. Tony Rocha, Scott Blackburn, and Stacy Hamilton.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood with Bro. Tony Becker and Bro. Matthew Rowland officiating.

Visitation will be held an hour prior to services on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel- Glenwood.

Interment will be held at Breashears Cemetery with Pastor David Whitmire officiating.
