Doris Ann Warren

Doris Ann Warren (nee Horner – Cliver), 72, of Mayflower, Arkansas passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 10, 2024. She was born on July 22, 1951, at Elmer Community Hospital in Salem County New Jersey.

Doris Ann was lovingly raised on a farm with her grandparents Harry and Martha Cliver (nee Morgan). It was here her love of animals began by taking care of her many pets.  Doris Ann was particularly fond of her buckskin horse, Bucky the Buckaroo.

As a young adult she enjoyed spending time with her large family and many friends. Doris Ann enjoyed outdoor activities with her daughters including Cowtown, gardening, and sunny days at the lake. The sun set and the winds of change blew, and Doris Ann began a life on her own outside of New Jersey.

She met the love of her life, William “Tom” Thomas Warren, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky where he served in the United States Army. They were married on January 17, 1983 in Tennessee. They moved back to his home state of Arkansas and started their lives in North Little Rock.

While working many jobs they still found ways to incorporate family time in the wilderness that she loved that included camping in Mountain View and listening to the folk music in the square.

After the sudden loss of Tom in the war against Iraq in 2007, Doris surrounded herself with her family and friends, but especially her grandchildren to occupy her time. She found a love of antiquing and continued her love of animals by taking care of her boxer, Mya.

She was pre-deceased by her husband of 24 years, Tom Warren, her parents Pauline “Penny” Pierce and Donald Horner, and her grandparents Harry and Martha Cliver.

She is survived by her siblings Keith Harris and Kathy Platt, her children Doreen Hill (Sammie) of Ocala, FL., Denise Day (James) of Griffithville, AR., Desiree Willingham of Benton, AR., Zack Warren (Crystal) of Mayflower, AR., and Jordan Warren of Little Rock, AR., 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family who will miss her dearly.

Doris will be interred with her late husband at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
