Doris A. Beard, 92, of Jacksonville passed away Thursday, August 17, 2017. She was born September 26, 1924 in Assumption, Illinois to the late Ernest and Cora Bracy. She was a registered nurse and administrator for Rose Care Nursing facility in Jacksonville for over 30 years. Doris's faith in Christ was lived out in her life and she was prepared to meet Him for her eternity.
Doris is survived by her son, Robert and Fran Beard; grandsons, Chris and Heather Beard, Joe and Kelly Beard, Michael and Maranda Taylor, and Aaron and Jenni Taylor; numerous great-grandchildren and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Senior Master Sgt. Ex POW Robert L. Beard; daughter, Cynthia Taylor Collins; five siblings; and her best friends, Shirley Scott and Lucille Harper.
Per her request there will not be a service.
