Doris Christine Turley, age 82, of Mount Ida, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012. She was born on April 10, 1930, in Forrest City, the daughter of John Austin Moore and Mattie Alma Ford Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Turley; her daughter, Crystal Ann Nieto; and nine siblings. A wife of a WWII veteran, Doris was truly patriotic, with a great love and pride for her country and for many years was actively involved with the Wounded Warriors. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida and enjoyed gardening and fishing. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Foulke of Springfield, Missouri; her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Susan Meeks of Norman; her son-in-law, Rick Nieto of Aly; six grandchildren and their spouses, Christy and Morry Sanders of Black Springs, Jennifer Broadbent of Wichita, Kansas, Mattie and Chad Fulmer of Conway, Rip and Amanda Meeks of Norman, Mike and Angela Bershers of Glenwood and Mary Bershers of Benton; fifteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 24, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Paul Burke officiating. Public viewing will be held Friday, 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM, prior to the services. Interment will be in the Black Springs Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Morry Sanders, Chad Fulmer, Mark Whisenhunt, David James, David Lybrand and Bill Ray. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
