Doris "Cricket" Hudman

Doris “Cricket” Hudman, age 79, of Arkadelphia passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 16, 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas to the late Sam H. and Rilla Mae (Webb) Walker. She insisted on being called “Cricket” her whole life because her father gave her that nickname shortly after she was born since she was so small that she could fit in a dresser drawer. Cricket’s favorite hobby was shopping and getting “dolled up”. She did not miss any of her grandchildren’s events. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her world. Cricket also loved being called “Nana”. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Maxine (Walker) Scott.

Cricket is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roland “Sonny” Hudman of Arkadelphia; sons, Ronald Hudman (Annette) of Seabrook, Texas, and Christopher Hudman (Shannon) of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren, Samantha Fernandes (Brett), Tabitha Free (Chris), Ryan Hudman, Chelsea Hudman, and Nathan Barbara (Erica); great-grandchildren, Bryson Hudman, Olivia Free, Addyson Free, and Carter Free; and sister, Margaret Lorene Cox.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel, with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Mark Pagels officiating. Burial will follow at Harts Chapel Cemetery in Curtis. Pallbearers are Jake Cox, Brett Fernandes, Chris Free, Bryson Hudman, Hank Hurt, and Mark Landwehr.
