Doris “Cricket” Hudman, age 79, of Arkadelphia passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 16, 1946 in Forrest City, Arkansas to the late Sam H. and Rilla Mae (Webb) Walker. She insisted on being called “Cricket” her whole life because her father gave her that nickname shortly after she was born since she was so small that she could fit in a dresser drawer. Cricket found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, especially shopping and getting dolled up with her beloved sister, Margaret. She shared a beautiful, devoted life with her beloved husband, whom she loved deeply and who was truly her everything. Together, they lovingly raised their two sons, building a home rooted in love, faith, and strong family values. Cricket also loved being called “Nana”. Our beloved Nana was a kind and gentle soul whose life was devoted to her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren were her greatest joy and the center of her world. She touched the lives of all who knew her with warmth, grace, and compassion. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joyce Maxine (Walker) Scott.
Cricket is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roland “Sonny” Hudman of Arkadelphia; sons, Ronald Hudman (Annette) of Seabrook, Texas, and Christopher Hudman (Shannon) of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren, Samantha Fernandes (Brett), Tabitha Free (Chris), Ryan Hudman, Chelsea Hudman, and Nathan Barbara (Erica); great-grandchildren, Bryson Hudman, Olivia Free, Addyson Free, and Carter Free; and sister, Margaret Lorene Cox.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:00pm., Friday, January 16, 2026 at Ruggles-Wilcox Chapel, with funeral services beginning at 2:00pm with Brother Mark Pagels officiating. Burial will follow at Harts Chapel Cemetery in Curtis. Pallbearers are Jake Cox, Brett Fernandes, Chris Free, Bryson Hudman, Hank Hurt, and Mark Landwehr.
