Doris Marie Taylor, age 79, of Amity, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

She was born on July 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Elwood Gray and Evelyn Pearson. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sabrina Manes; her brother, Kenneth Gray; her daughter, Dorlisa Varner; and her son, Chad Taylor.

Doris married the love of her life, Gerald Taylor, on January 12, 1961. They were married for 63 years. She was a wonderful homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Amity Second Baptist Church. She loved singing gospel music, fishing, camping, and vacationing in Colorado.

Doris will be remembered for the immense love she had for her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doris is survived by her husband, Gerald Taylor of Amity; her two sons, Terry Taylor of Amity and Jerry (Laura) Taylor of Alpine; her son-in-law, Joey Varner of Alpine; her grandchildren, Ella (Brandon) Carpenter, Kim (Clint) Arnold, Marty (Kayla) Varner, Slayton (Ashley) Taylor, Brayden Taylor, Dyllan (Bailey) Taylor, Logan (Maddie) Taylor; her 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way; her 3 sisters, Sue Ursery (Jack) of Dobyville, Sandra (Larry) Murphy of Gould, and Linda (David) Irons of McGee; her three brothers, Ricky (Bonita) Pearson of Dover, Greg (Paula) Grey of Bismarck, and Curtis Lee (Renee) Tarlton of California; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM with Bro. Randy Murphy officiating at Smith Family Funeral Home, 209 North 3rd Steet, Glenwood, AR, 71943.

Interment will be held at Jones Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Slayton Taylor, Brayden Taylor, Dyllan Taylor, Logan Taylor, Clint Arnold, Marty Varner, and Brandon Carpenter.
