Doris Woodruff, 74, of Maumelle passed away Saturday, November 15, 2014. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maumelle. She worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. While working at Harris Hospital in Newport, she served as Director of Nursing, Supervisor of OR/Recovery, OB, ER and Medical/Surgical.
She was a loving mom and grandma. She is survived by her two children, Denver Wayne Woodruff, of Gulfport, Mississippi and Jabetta Woodruff Barnhart (Donnie) of North Little Rock; three grandchildren, Taylor, Tanner and Tara Barnhart; and her sister, Linnie Edwards (Chuck) of Houston, Texas. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Wayne Woodruff; her parents, Earl and Grace Smith Lackey; and her siblings, Jo McGowan Hays, Florence Lackey Bourne, Bernice Lackey Wood, John Edward Lackey and George Thomas Lackey.
The family would like to thank Bright Star Health services for their care over the last 2 years, and the loving nurses, Stephanie (evening shift) and Stephanie (day shift) for the excellent care they gave Mother at Baptist Hospital.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Maumelle, 120 Millwood Circle, Maumelle, AR 72113.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Smith - North Little Rock Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at the funeral home. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday at Ballews Chapel cemetery in Grubbs, Arkansas.
