Dorla Crawford

Dorla Louise (Kenzel) Crawford, 85, of Hensley passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016. She was born September 15, 1930 in Hensley, Arkansas (East End). The youngest of ten children born to Robert E. and Effie M. Kenzel, she married Porter Udell Crawford on November 28, 1947, at her parents' home and was blessed with 43 years of marriage prior to his death in November 1990. She was a member of Forest Tower Baptist Church for many years and was most recently a member of East End Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother - known to her great grandchildren as Gigi. She loved raising her children, gardening, growing flowers and spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She helped friends both in her church and community in many ways including sharing fresh-picked and canned vegetables and placing American flags at the cemetery on Memorial Day. One of her most proud accomplishments was receiving her GED from Sheridan High School in 1985.
Louise is survived by her daughters; Patricia Louise Clark (Norman), Anna Marie Claunch (Paul) and son Porter Dale Crawford (Gale); grandchildren; Matthew Crawford, Sarah Kristen McGregor (Dustin), Lance Kling (Kasey), Brittany Lehman (Tim), Dr. Melissa Seme (Lars) and Jeanna Partridge (Tim); great grandchildren; Abby Crawford, Payten Crawford, Caden Kling, Ellie Lehman, Lindsay Seme and Evelyn Seme. She will be missed by a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and fellow church members.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband along with brothers; Fred, Jake, Houston, Ed, Gordon and Bobby Kenzel, Billy Jean Wells and sisters; Cynthia Arnzen and Lois Spann.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at East End Baptist Church with visitation one hour before service. Burial to follow at Salem Cemetery, 20409 Arch Street Pike, Hensley, Arkansas (East End).
