Listen to Obituary

Dorothy May Campbell, age 91, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, with her loving daughter Angie by her side. She was born on October 28, 1934, in Mount Vernon, Arkansas.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Bessie Wilkes; her brother Bobby Joe Wilkes and sister, Joyce Shaw; and her devoted husband of 57 years, Marvin Jackson Campbell. She is survived by her sister, Gail Beatty of Russellville; two sons, Doug Campbell (Sherrye) and James Campbell, both of North Little Rock; two daughters, Judy Campbell of Conway and Angela White (Terry) of Little Rock; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.

Dorothy was a God-fearing woman and a faithful member of the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock until her move to Brookdale at Chenal Heights assisted living in Little Rock in 2012. Prior to that time, she spent more than 40 years in the Baring Cross neighborhood of North Little Rock. Her home on Nannette Street was where she and her husband raised their children, actively participated in the community, and shared countless treasured moments with their grandchildren.

She devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker and was a loving caregiver to her grandchildren. Dorothy took great pride in her appearance and always enjoyed keeping her hair and nails done—a simple pleasure that reflected her grace, dignity, and attention to detail. For a time, she also worked as a Mary Kay consultant, where she especially valued the friendships she formed.

Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband at The Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” — Revelation 21:4
