Dorothy Cartmel

Dorothy (Dicus) Cartmel, of Cabot, Arkansas, fondly known to friends and family as "Dottie", was born October 18, 1942, to Elmer and Lois (Tucker) Dicus. She went to her Heavenly home Saturday, April 7, 2018. This world has been a better place for 75 years with her contagious smile.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Dalton Cartmel. Dalton and Dottie have four daughters, Donna (Kevin) Mann of Cabot, Sara Marshall of Ward, Cindy (Greg) Jones of Cabot, and Kelly (Alyssa) Journey of Little Rock. She has five grandchildren, Matt (Natalie) Payne, Missy Payne (Aaron) Mathis, Ashlyn Marshall (Tyler) Madding, Megan Marshall, Josie Jones, and step grandson Woody Mann. She has three great-grandchildren, Mallory Payne, Gage and Macey Mathis; and a step great-grandson Hunter Hall.

Also surviving her are her two sisters, Helen Vowan and Teresa Carter.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Dottie loves gardening, her flowers and vegetables, baking and cooking for her family and going on trips, especially to the beach to pick up shells.

We would like to encourage you to slow down and look at the vibrant colors of a flower, eat dinner with your family, and hug each other tight.

We know she is proudly wearing her crown of jewels and tending her beautiful garden in Heaven.

Visitation will be Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, also at the church. Burial will be in Sumner Cemetery.
