Dorothy Lee "Dottie" Downs, 78, of Little Rock passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012. Dottie was a founding owner of Don's Supply in Little Rock, founding member of the English Riding Club and president of the Greater Arkansas Hunter Jumper Association.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Don Downs, of Hot Springs; three children, Sandy Downs (Lisa), Karen Young (Michael) and Dean Downs (Lori); three grandchildren, Jonathan Young (Shelley), Lindsay Young and Megan Vandament (James); one great-grandson, Jackson Vandament; sister, Beverly Eberle (John). She was preceded in death by her parents, W.B. Sanford and Mildred Young Sanford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pulaski County Humane Society, 14600 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, Arkansas 72210.
An informal memorial gathering to celebrate Dottie's life will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com
