Dorothy Irene Hendrix

Dorothy Irene Parsons Hendrix, 85 of McRae, AR passed into eternity August 18, 2023. She was born on June 2, 1938 to Joe and Ada Parsons in Higginson, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Ada Parsons, her brothers Elvis, Paul and Ernest Parsons and granddaughter Emmaly Holt.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 49 years Johnny Hendrix. Daughter Kathy Liles (Tim) of McRae, sons Timothy Holt (Debbie) of McRae, Ted Holt (Keena) of Hermitage. Stepdaughters Vicki Hendrix of Denton, TX, Judy Harmon of McRae and Stepson Tommy Hendrix of McRae. Granddaughters Shana, Kristi, Sara, Lauren, McKenzie, Gracie, Courtney, Brandi, Katie, Rachel, Shelena, Michala. Grandsons Joey, Andrew, Tyler, Bradley and 20 great grandchildren. Sisters Ruby (Bobby), JoAnn (Sidney), Patsy (Jimmy), Sandy (Dale), Metza (Gary) and Brothers Odas (Robin). Danny, James (Becky), Eddie (Terri) and many many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy loved listening to gospel hymns, watching her favorite preachers on television, and reading her bible. She loved her children but she loved her grandchildren more. She enjoyed camping, sewing, cooking, gardening, and fishing. She along with Johnny especially loved taking the grandchildren camping, boating, to amusement parks, loading them up in a van to go look at Christmas lights and teasing them about her yellow bell bush.

Being the oldest of 15 kids, she loved her brothers and sisters beyond measure. Her face would light up at the very sight of them. Always reminding them she was the boss. 

She will be missed immensely by her family but we are so happy to know that she is with Jesus, her parents, brothers, and her very beloved Emmaly.

Visitation will begin from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will start at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2023 also at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. Dewitt Henry Dr., Beebe, AR 72012.

Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
