Dorothy Jackson

Known to her grandchildren and friends as Big Momma, Mrs. Almer B. (Dorothy Ann) Tucker Jackson passed away in Searcy, Arkansas April 30, 2011. She was born November 21, 1911 in Midland County, Texas and was a long-time resident of Abilene, Texas and later Stuttgart, Arkansas. One of Dorothy's favorite memories was of her mother describing how they transported a piano across the Texas plains in a covered wagon.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Almer B. Jackson of Abilene, Texas; grandson Brian Dyson of Conway, Arkansas; parents WH and Mary Tucker of Golthwaite, Texas; and all brothers and sisters.
Survivors include daughter Patricia (John) Dyson of Mayflower, Arkansas; sons Blaine Jackson of Stuttgart, Arkansas and Jerry (Nancy) Jackson of Searcy, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside services to be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Rock Church Cemetery, Hood County, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Rock Church Building Fund, c/o Diane Martin, 5702 Friendship Rd., Tolar, TX 76476. www.westbrookfuneralhome.com
