Dorothy Jean Kenzel, 81, of Mabelvale peacefully passed away in the presence of her family on Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was born July 3, 1931 in Paris, Arkansas; and was preceded in death by her parents Charles N. Lucas and Minnie I. Lucas (Moore), and her husband of 56 years, Walter G. Kenzel. She was a member of Mabelvale United Methodist Church and was a retired LPN from St. Vincent Infirmary.
Survived by her children, Cathy (George) Outlaw of Hensley, Neil (Christy) Kenzel of Lonoke; her grandchildren, Carrie (Chris) Buxton of Benton, Bryan (Jessica) Kenzel of Ward, and Grace Kenzel of Lonoke; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Skyler and Aubrey Kenzel and Peyton Buxton; a brother, Kenneth Lucas of North Little Rock; sisters, Sue Dobbins of Bryant, Mary Cooper of Little Rock and Anna Adams of Florida; and a host of many nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
Dorothy enjoyed time with her family and friends and cooking for others. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family would like to express their gratitude to her special neighbors who are like family and to the staff at Hospice Home Care.
Visitation will be Friday, December 28, 2012 at Mabelvale United Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service time at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Little Rock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mabelvale United Methodist Church, 10500 Woodman St., Mabelvale, Arkansas 72103.
