Dorothy Faye Turner, age 85, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on April 5, 2026, with the comfort of her son by her side. She was born on November 12, 1940, in Des Arc, Arkansas, to LeRoy and Roberta Ford.
Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She shared a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Rex Milton Turner, and together they built a life centered on love, faith, and family. She was a proud and caring mother to her son, Rex Jason Turner, and found her greatest joy in her three grandchildren, Kylee, Kinlee, and Brooks, who affectionately knew her as “GiGi.” They were truly the light of her life.
She is survived by her loving family: her sister Karen and Tommy Huggins of Nash, Texas; her brother David Ford of Little Rock, Arkansas; and her brother Tim and Shawna Ford of Wilton, Arkansas. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will cherish her memory.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Roberta Ford, and her brothers Freddie Lee, Billy Wayne, and Ricky Denzel Ford.
She graduated from Humphrey High School in Humphrey, Arkansas, in 1958. Dorothy went on to have a dedicated and successful career, retiring after 36 years in Human Resources with USF&G Insurance in Nashville, Tennessee. Her strong work ethic and commitment were admired by all who knew her.
A faithful Baptist, Dorothy loved the Lord and lived a life that reflected kindness, strength, and quiet grace. She enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren. She was also a devoted fan of Tom Jones and attended many of his concerts over the years, creating cherished memories.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Smith Family Funeral Home, Hot Springs Chapel, located at 2205 Airport Road in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial at Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs.
Dorothy Faye Turner will be remembered for her deep love of family, her gentle spirit, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
