Dorothy "Mitzie" Westbrook

Dorothy "Mitzie" Westbrook passed away on September 14, 2026. She was born on August 21, 1933 to George and Veronica Smith in Pittsburgh, PA.

When she was a senior in high school, her family moved to Pine Bluff, AR. She graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1954 with a B.S. in Education. She was a member of Delta Gamma fraternity. She often described herself as "a Yankee by birth and a southerner by choice."

Mitzie married George Westbrook in 1954 and remained married until his death in 2020. They traveled the world together, including two visits to the Holy Land. Their favorite place to visit was Alaska. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and the Agape New Challenges Sunday School Class Throughout her adult life, Mitzie was a dedicated volunteer for organizations including the Girl Scouts, schools and her church.

Mitzie is survived by two daughters, Debra Bokulic (Ronald) of Cincinnati, OH and Robin Mickel of Conway, AR, two granddaughters, Erin Bokulic of Wilmington, DE and Caitlin McGovern (Joseph) of Montclair, NJ, two grandsons, Thomas Westbrook "Brooks" Mickel of Little Rock, AR and Alexander Mickel of Bentonville, AR, and a great grandson, Michael Patrick McGovern of Montclair, NJ.

A service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. James United Methodist Church. Please wear bright colors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James United Methodist Church.
