Douglas Wayne Bentley, age 71 residing in North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on August 29, 2024 peacefully at his home. Doug was born on March 29, 1953 at Barksdale Airforce Base in Louisiana and grew up all around the world including Libya and the Philippines. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Julia Bentley. He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years Berva Bentley. Sons Joshua (Melanie) Bentley of Little Rock, Arkansas, Douglas Harrison Bentley (fiancée Erica Brattin) Elkins, Arkansas, daughter Victoria Jenkins (Daniel) Nashville Tennessee, Matthew Edwards (Shauna), Henrico, Virginia. Richard Burt (Lisa) Nashville, Tennessee. Grandchildren Lukas Jenkins, Eliot and Mena Edwards, Corey, Hannah, Adam and Emma Burt. Sister Melanie Cowart, Mena, Arkansas, His brothers, Michael (K.C.) Rustin, Louisiana, Charles (Suzanne) Mena, Arkansas. Sister-in-law Kelly Brewer, Sherwood, Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
Doug, was active at Central Baptist Church on Fairway and enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. He was an avid HO model train collector and liked nothing better than watching the Arkansas Razorbacks’ playing football and basketball with his sons. Doug also enjoyed writing poetry. By trade he was a structural steel detailer and self-employed for over thirty years.
