Doyle D. Horn, age 81, of Mount Ida, passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023.

He was born on February 22, 1942, in Caddo Gap, the son of Jefferson Davis Horn and Anne Rose Smith Horn. On September 21, 1968, he was married to Joyce Anne Thorton who preceded him in death on March 19, 2018. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his four sisters, Bobbie Buchanan, Patsy Bean, Mary Scott, Sherrie Chote; his two brothers, Mel Horn and Will Horn; and his stepfather, Thomas Gorham.

Doyle was Freewill Baptist in his faith. He spent many years working for Weyerhaeuser and following retirement he drove a truck for a few years. He loved traveling and going on adventures. He loved all things outdoors, especially looking for arrowheads. Doyle will be missed by all who knew and loved him.  

He is survived by his children, Kevin and Gina Thornton of Langley, Tana Gwaltney of Huntsville, Alabama, Brooks and Lynn Horn of Bella Vista and Lorie Horn of Henderson, Nevada; six grandchildren and their spouses, Sheena and James Estep, Brittany and Cody Gardner, Riley Gwaltney, Thomas Horn, Anna Claire Horn and Emma Horn; four great-grandchildren; his special niece and nephew, Terry and Letha Scott; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 4, 2023, in the Smith Family Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Ron Parker officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to services.

Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
