Doyle Gene Stewart

Doyle Gene Stewart, age 81, passed away on January 16, 2026. He was born on January 23, 1944, in Wister, Oklahoma, to Orvis Doyle Stewart and Bessie Marie Stewart. 

Doyle spent more than 30 years working as a truck driver, proudly serving with Consolidated Freightways and Strickland. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he provided faithfully for his family throughout his career. A man of deep faith, Doyle was a 55-year member of Little Rock West Assembly of God Church, where he served in many roles over the years, including Deacon, teacher, and sound board operator. His dedication to his church family was a defining part of his life. Outside of work and church, Doyle enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid gardener and hunter, finding peace and joy in nature and in working with his hands. He was a wonderful father to Doyle and Mikey, but he shined at being an amazing Papaw to Lauran and Dalton.

Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, Orvis Doyle Stewart and Bessie Marie Stewart; his brothers, Donald and Joe, and his sister Paula; his wife, Shirley Stewart; and his son, Michael Stewart.

He is survived by his son, Doyle Allen Stewart; his sisters, Linda McClellon and Gwenda France; his grandchildren, Lauran Burroughs and Dalton Stewart; his 5 great grandchildren and many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Little Rock Assembly of God Church (16403 Lamarche Dr, Little Rock, Arkansas 72223). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Little Rock Assembly of God Church, with a private graveside service to follow.
