Listen to Obituary

Dr. Robert Paul Hogue DDS, 77, of Haskell, Arkansas, went home to be with the Lord on the evening of May 28, 2026, at Saline Memorial Hospital in Benton. Bob lived life to the fullest, never met a stranger, and was loved deeply by all who knew him. His enthusiasm for life was contagious, and he touched countless lives through his faith, his work, and his unwavering love for family.

Born in Little Rock on March 12, 1949, and raised in Benton, Bob's journey was marked by excellence and purpose. He graduated from Benton High School, earned a bachelor's degree in Animal Science and a master's degree in Microbiology from the University of Arkansas, and attended dental school at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, completing his residency at VA Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. He served five years in the Army Reserves. Bob opened his own dental practice in Bryant, where he served his community with dedication for 33 years before retiring in 2015.

Beyond his professional achievements, Bob lived for his passions. He was an avid hunter of deer, duck, pheasant, turkey, squirrels, and elk. He raised cattle with pride, winning top prize at the Houston Stock Show—one of his proudest accomplishments. He always had a dog by his side and enjoyed competing with them in field trial competitions. Bob loved being outdoors, watching wildlife, and spending time on his farm in Paron, Arkansas. He was actually getting ready to go see the daisies on the farm the morning he headed to the hospital for the last time.

But above all else, Bob's greatest joy was his family. He married his beloved wife, Emily Harper Hogue, on December 26, 1969, and their love story spanned more than 56 wonderful years. Together they traveled, enjoyed good food, and shared a deep love for nature. He was fiercely proud of his son Jason Hogue (wife Krystal) and daughter Megan Hogue Greenwood (husband Brian Greenwood), and he absolutely lived for his ten grandchildren and one great-grandson: Paul Greenwood, K'Torri Greenwood, Caroline Hogue, Brinley Hogue, Chase Greenwood, Kaelen Greenwood, Luke Hogue, America Greenwood, Kai Greenwood, Gracie Greenwood, and Zaire Greenwood. "Deadeye" could often be found watching their games and performances.

A man of deep faith, Bob was a longtime member of Graceway Baptist Church (formerly First Southern Baptist Church) in Bryant, Arkansas, and he loved Jesus with his whole heart. He had many lifelong friends and always welcomed others with open arms.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Frank Paul Hogue and Alice Morrison Hogue. He leaves behind his cherished wife Emily, his children Jason and Megan, his ten grandchildren, one great-grandson, his siblings Curtis Hogue and Cindy Hogue, and countless family members, friends, and patients whose lives he touched.

Services: Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 6, 2026, followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Both will take place at Graceway Baptist Church (formerly First Southern Baptist Church) in Bryant, Arkansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Beginnings Pregnancy Center in Benton, Arkansas, a cause close to Bob's heart.

Bob lived like every day was a gift, and he gave gifts to everyone around him—his love, his laughter, his time, and his unwavering faith. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, dentist, hunter, cattleman, dog lover, gospel music fan, and most of all, a man who loved Jesus and his family with everything he had. He will be missed beyond measure, but his legacy lives on in all who knew him.
