Dr. Edwin "Doc" Bunten

Dr. Edwin "Doc" Raymond Bunten of Beebe passed away peacefully in his home on April 27th.  Ed was the last of the "Greatest Generation" of Buntens, having been the youngest of nine.  He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 30, 1926 to Rose Barry and Stephen Bunten.

After serving in the Army during the Second World War, Ed started his family in the St. Louis area.  In 1964 he graduated with a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Logan University and moved his family to Arkansas, settling first in Little Rock.  In 1972 "Doc" opened Beebe Chiropractic Clinic where he took care of his patients for 46 years.  He finally closed the doors to his dream and retired in 2017 at the age of 90.

He was an active and then honorary member of Rolling Hills Country Club where he continued to play golf well into retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Bunten, sons William (Naomi) in Birmingham, England; Drew (Leigh) of Bryant, AR; Steve (Anita) of Aurora, CO; Matt (Joanna) of Rogers, AR; and Daughters Teresa/Terri (Jim Guthrie) of Marietta, GA; Helen of Conway, AR; 16 Grandchildren and over a dozen Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday May 7, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, Beebe.  The family will have a private service Saturday, May 8.
